Verona and the surrounding area offer an abundance of art and culture, as well as delicious food and wine. There are also many ways for sports enthusiasts to enjoy their free time in the outdoors.

Verona’s historic center; a bicycle excursion is another way to make the visit (the Comune of Verona rents a limited number of bicycles). For those who like to run, the Bastioni di Spagna (a boardwalk located along the river) and the Torricelle hills are both ideal spots; the latter offers obstacle courses nestled in nearby woods for those who want an extra challenge. Many green spaces, parks, tennis courts, and public pools can also be found in Verona. For more information, visit these web sites: or .

Located just a few minutes from Verona, the Lessinia region offers an ideal place to spend free time yearround. During the summer, enjoy fresh air and breathtaking views—hiking along the many panoramic paths, on horseback, or by mountain bike. In fact, locals Paola Pezzo (Olympic gold-medal winner/Women’s Mountain Bike) and Damiano Cunego (2004 winner/Giro d’Italia) owe some of their success to early training in this very area. Come winter, there is even more to do—downhill, alpine, and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ciaspole and ice skating are among the many activities that can be enjoyed in the area. For information on downhill skiing in the Malga San Giorgio area consult the following website: . For more information on the many kilometers of spectacular trails awaiting cross-country skiiers on the High Plateau of the Lessinia, consult

The hills of the Valpolicella are ideal for bicycle excursions and nature walks. The Molina Waterfalls, botanical park, and Veja natural bridge are must-sees for those who enjoy walking and exploring natural wonders along woodsy trails.

Eastern Verona and the Verona plain also offer interesting routes along paths located admist vineyards, rice fields, charming villages, historic properties and local museums. The Verona area is ideally suited for long bicycle rides or pleasing “passeggiate” (strolls).
If you want to try the magic of balloon flight and enjoy unique landscapes living an adventure for everyone, just book a flight with Alex Bellini (

Nothing follows a pleasant walk or bike ride better than a nice swim in Lake Garda! Plenty of sunshine, sailing. boat trips, and musement parks can all be enjoyed here (see . Or, if you prefer, take the chairlift from Malcesine to the top of Mount Baldo and enjoy gorgeous pre-Alpine views and nature walks ( .

For those wishing to spend their free time shopping, boutiques, local specialty stores, and area malls abound. Plus, there are always numerous exhibitions, concerts, dance productions and theater to partake of as well! World class opera is held in Verona’s roman Arena and fantastic shows are held in the city’s roman theater, but the city stages productions in many charming piazzas and courtyards. Typical village festivals and other activities can also be enjoyed throughout the summer in many towns throughout the Verona province.

In short, there is never a shortage of things to do in Verona and the surrounding area!! Welcome...and ENJOY!
