Travelling with children

Verona is marvelous:

Verona for Kids It takes a mere few steps to reach the Roman amphitheater, and imagine yourself as an ancient gladiator...a few steps further and you reach a medieval piazza, Piazza delle Erbe, with its many trinket stalls, and curious—even mysterious—monuments...a bit further along you enter ancient cathedrals, brimming with tombs of saints and knights...and then, just around the corner, you’ll run into the world’s most famous lovers...and finally you can always follow the Adige River as it wraps itself around Verona on its U-shaped course towards the sea. You will find all kinds of kid-friendly information, including some secrets on how to best visit Verona, on a web site created especially for you!

Verona is a marvelous city—discover it with us and be surprised!

Some advice for Mom and Dad:

ansa dell'Adige When organizing a visit to a new city, it’s best to involve the kids right from the start. Show them pictures of the places they will see, maybe even consulting a map together, to develop their sense of direction. A visit to any new place should include things to see and do but plenty of free time to play in parks or piazzas. Make sure to balance sightseeing with plenty of stops, and don’t forget to bring along games, books, and other distractions for the littlest travelers (particularly important to keep boredom at bay in the car or in line at the museum). Dress comfortably and remember that the best way to see a city is on foot, so remember to wear comfortable shoes!! Finally, to prevent kids from getting lost, make sure each one carries a note in his or her pocket with the following information: name, address, parents’ name and cell phone numbers, plus the phone number of a relative at home.
